The adjective on the struggle.
The adjective as grammatical figure possesses so much weight into the human mental argument that eliminate it or constructing an interpretation of daily life without the adjective will derivate on a totally new world to human mankind. Without adjective prejudge or interpretation would just be hold to the present moment and the immediate experience out of the heavy anchor of judge.
The Eastern martial arts have always stand out the value of breaking with the sensorial argument with which we built our reality originating a script that not always enhances or allows the best of our great qualities.
Adjective seen from a literary point of view might be a great value resource and rich to transmit the emotional and physical diversity which is capture by the poet or narrator, but the adjective restricts the horizons of life experiences, it doesn’t allows the non distinction of the reality fluidity, filled of free experience and life itself. The adjective restricts when puts the “ego” on a specific place.
In Europe Joan’s of Arc (1412 – 1431) overwhelming warrior image supported on the religious faith, carried out her troops to get over the inferiority complex. She shocked her social-political time and the traditional fighting systems of feared warrior with one unique vision of combat strategy. Just her woman image proposed itself a change on the way of seeing the battle field and the results that can be expected.
The Orleans maid putting herself in the first line in front of the enemies confronts the rational, and under the power her divine vision gave her she reached to be a part of history and removed the prejudges of the Europe of that time. The flames burned her body but not the drowsiness that gives the ignorance.
The man looping for the martial arts path maybe has the need of that moment open to mind temper, to a truth instant when fears are not hidden, not either the elemental whish of being the defeater.
The subject reminds me Jorge Luis Borges´ (1899 – 1986), the eminent Argentinean writer, exquisiteness way of masterfully narrate the fluidity of a time with no strings attached, when duty and action are transiting on the natural way. On the story “El Sur”, the main character Dahlman walks into a duel, with no mental cages or prejudges. The writer tells: - They went our, and if there was no hope in Dalhman, there was also no fear.
There is a possibility that katas in Karate – do in addition to build the technical argument and offering a methodology to educate the body, they are also a proposal that makes possible for the practitioner to flow as a mind and physically process with no judge that interferes with his reaction on the fight. The warrior or martial artist cannot allow himself to live on the adjective domains. The language itself can corrupt the understanding and abbreviates the real knowledge.
The martial art propose the worth of experience, the absolute notion can be disastrous when it is understood that experience covers the relative and circumstances. This is why adaptability is valuable and not being closed to any source of knowledge on any combat system. The warrior facing the fear can just be open to circumstances and to his martial education in interaction with the present time. Fear is just fear; this is why it is important to have a mind in harmony with a strong and open spirit.
My approach is just a simple opinion among the great knowledge of each one. The writer’s vanity must be subjugated to the experiences and interpretations of the reader, in this specific case to the experience of the martial artist or combatant.
